We have BIG news!
We are excited to share that we are pursuing adoption to grow our family. This has been something Dave and I have always dreamed about and planned for our family, and the desire to adopt has only grown with time. The journey for us seems to have started years ago as a simple prayer and hope, and here we are taking our first steps to welcome another little one into our family, this time by way of adoption.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $12,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. The next steps we take will be to create our adoption profile, complete the home study process, and begin fundraising to help cover the costs of adoption. To begin this process brings much joy to us, and it has already been a humbling journey in which we take one step in faith at a time.
We would love for you to help us in these ways:
Pray — we believe that God has a plan for our family, and we are praying that God will help us through this season and lead us in the right way to the child that is meant to be part of our family. Please, keep us in your prayers, and feel free to add our family to any prayer chains you know of, as well.
Share — we need your help in sharing our story and desire to adopt. Adoptions often happen organically through word of mouth. Sharing our story could play a huge part in connecting us to an expectant parent. Once our adoption profile is complete, it will be easy to share more about our family and our adoption journey.
Fundraise — if you are able, we ask that you participate and contribute to the fundraisers we will be hosting. Adoptions are expensive whatever route a family takes, and we greatly appreciate your support in this way.
