We are trying to legally adopt my grandson. We have had him since he came home from the hospital at 1 day old.

This will be a fully uncontested adoption. The attorney that I found that works in our county said the legal fees were $3800 for her retainer fee, $1500 for an adoption study, and $50-$100 for each of us to have a background check. Anything over the $3800 retainer fee, I can pay back at $400 per month.
