If you haven't already heard, I have BIG news! I'm adopting!
I’ve always wanted to be a mom, and even from a young age I’ve had the desire to adopt. After traveling to India in 2014, I’ve felt that God was calling me to adopt a little girl from India.
The adoption will cost somewhere around $40,000. I am excited about the prospect of fundraising because I am looking forward to seeing how God provides during this season. I know this wouldn’t be possible without a community of people supporting, loving, and praying for me and my future child and I’m eager to invite you all on this journey.
I hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community I hope to build around my daughter as she grows up! I look forward to the day when I will sit down with my child and share with her all the names of the people who helped bring her home to me.
I would also be so grateful if you shared this fundraiser with your friends, family, and others who may be interested in my adoption story! Thank you so much!
This morning I learned that we have a court date!! I'll need to be in India for court and stay for a few weeks while the documents are prepared before bringing my daughter home! I am beyond excited!! I'll be making travel arrangements this week and plan to be in India in mid July!!
All 152 pages of my dossier have made it to India!! Now I just wait for the news that our case has been filed in court. This has been the hardest wait yet; I'm so ready to bring my daughter home!!!
I received a phone call yesterday morning from my agency and they informed me NOC had been issued!!! This means that the Indian government has "No Objection" to the adoption moving forward. The next big step is
getting a court date and then travel!! I'm very hopeful my girl will be in my arms by summer!!!
I'm so incredibly excited to share that I am matched!!! Lord willing, I'll soon be the mom to the most precious little girl. There are still some significant steps in the process (US immigration approval, India NOC committee approval, and court are the big ones!), and there is still a small risk that I may not bring this little one home. But if God sees it fit for me to be this little girl's momma, my agency thinks I might be able to travel for pickup this summer!
As I move forward in this process, I'm needing around $10,000 in the next 8-12 weeks to cover immigration, agency, and court fees. Would you consider donating and sharing my story with your friends and family?
God is so faithful, and I'm confident in His trustworthiness and sufficiency in all the risks and unforeseen challenges that come with adoption and parenting in general. I'm humbled and honored that He would use me to demonstrate His love for His people through adoption!
It's been a while since I've posted an update, so I wanted to share what's been happening in the last nine months. After receiving CARA approval in February, my wait for a potential referral officially began. As my agency says, the adoption process timeline is predictably unpredictable. Due to the covid surge in April and a variety of other factors, the referral process for adoption from India has slowed down quite significantly. At this point, I'm still waiting for a referral, but I am hopeful that it will happen soon! I've been taking advantage of this time to prepare and am thankful for how God has been growing me in this season. I'm so blessed to have such a supportive community that reminds me of God's sovereignty and goodness throughout the long wait!
