Our story has been developing over the past couple of years. We have wanted to expand our family for a long time but have been unable. After a lot of soul searching and praying, we've decided to adopt a little boy from China!
C.S. Lewis said that “When we lose one blessing, another is often most unexpectedly given in its place.”
Miles is that answer to an unexpected blessing! This adorable six-year was meant to be ours!
Sean and I feel that adoption is the path God gave us to expand our family. Our greatest wish is for Ryan have someone to share his life with and know the joy that we share with our siblings. When Ryan saw the video of Miles, his immediate reaction was "That's him! That's my brother. That's him right there!" We cannot wait to bring him to his forever home.
It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more! We are blessed with ability to raise a second child and pay for most of the adoption cost. However, we don’t have the ability to pay all of the up-front costs that come in a very short period of time. We can’t do it by ourselves and are reaching out for help.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up.
Your donation will help us defray some of our adoption costs, as well as contribute to the well being of many children in the orphanage, and make a huge difference in the life of one of the 900,000 children waiting for a family — our newest son, Miles Cheng!
