Sarah Morris

is adopting a child

Sarah and I have always been ones to walk the less traveled path. I met my future wife while serving as a USAF exchange officer in Peru. Sarah was serving as a volunteer coordinator from Brasil at a church in Peru. I soon asked her parents permission to court Sarah for the purpose of marriage and the rest is history! We will be married 21 June 2014 at the United States Air Force Academy Chapel. Our walk is unique in that we are planning to adopt and have not chosen an agency, country from which we will adopt a child, or have a fixed timeline. Some organizations do not even allow adoptions until at least 5 years of marriage. Life in the profession of arms also presents its challenges of geographic stability in the coordination of home studies. We will have one year as a married couple before we are scheduled for a permanent change of station. Our plan is to adopt within the next 5 to 7 years. However, it is in our hearts to start planning now to adopt a child through our wedding registry. Whether it be out of obedience or a simple desire to share in the joy and purpose of life, we would like to invite our family and friends to walk with us in one of our dreams.
