If you&'re looking at this page, thanks for being here! We are half-way through the process of adopting a toddler with medical needs from China. How did we get here? To be brief, we have been married for 10 years and always thought we would have a few children by now. A couple years ago, we had a son stillborn at full term. Of course, this was devastating, especially because we didn&'t think we would be able to have children biologically. Instead of pursuing other routes, our hearts were led toward international adoption. It&'s a process that is truly at the core of who we are and what we believe, and given the millions of children without families in our world, and the resources available to us in the United States, it&'s hard to look away. The road which led us to this point was not one we would have mapped out for ourselves, but we know that God loves all people, even though He is perfect and we are far from it. We want to be an extension of this love. Many people consider adoption, but few ever adopt, mostly because of the unknowns and the expenses involved. We believe the costs associated with adoption are unjust given the number of orphans waiting for families, but we have decided that doing nothing will not change the system. We will be covering many of the costs associated with the process, but we are also looking for partners in this journey: people who will share our heart for this unknown child.
