are adopting a child

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

To many this may not make any sense. Some may be asking why, or believe that we “have enough” kids but God has placed it on our hearts to privately adopt. We have been a home for foster children (who some have stayed and some left) for 5 years and our hearts long for that newborn connection. That feeling when you see that baby for the first time and you don’t have to worry if the next phone call will be from a caseworker saying they are leaving. That you will be there for all the first and the lasts. They won’t have to endure the same heartache as the others (still some because I believe in utero trauma is very real) but they will be safe from that very moment. No fighting the agency to finally do what’s “best for the child”. Life itself has worries but to be able to look at my sweet babies and tell them “this one is staying forever” will be a gift. I say all of this to say, we have no idea how we are going to afford this, what state the baby will come from or all that will come along. Adoption is expensive no matter what but from what we have seen in foster care I would much rather have to pay “Fees” than to see yet another child be put in the system. We do know God will provide and just like our other children we aim only for him to be glorified in what happens.

*If you know of a mother looking for a family for her baby, please give them our names and if you feel lead to donate to our adoption we have an adoption fund page set up to help with all the cost that go along with adding a sweet baby to the pinker family.

More than anything please stand with us in prayer for this sweet baby and the birth mother to feel Gods love and peace for the entire situation that may have led to this point.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of [insert amount] to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
