We are excited to announce we are growing our family through adoption!
We are Chris and Katie Powers. We have a 3 year old daughter, Adelaide, and a 1 year old son, Copeland. We live in Cincinnati, Ohio. Chris is a creative producer and Katie is a part-time postpartum nurse. Our family has a mission statement which is, “We will view our family as a gift from God through abiding in the Spirit. We will serve in humble love, offer offensive grace, break bonds of slavery, lean into the wild and unknown, and actively seek restoration.” We have a desire to grow our family and to raise them in this manner. Adoption is a choice and we choose to pursue our next child in this manner. We know that adoption is beautiful but we also understand it is difficult, brave, and selfless. We respect the birth parent(s) who choose adoption and feel honored to be chosen as parents for a precious child.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. We would appreciate any help we can get for covering those costs!
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
