I am adopting a child!
I am beyond excited and am doing everything I can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into my home. As part of my adoption process, I have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more….
And this is where I stop using the form letter…and yes you read it right it said a child, a small person, a miniature human being.
As those who are close to me will tell you I have never been good at asking for help so this is all new to me. My mother has told me many times before that my favorite phrase as a child was "I can do it all my by self". This is one thing I know I can't do by myself. This is something that at times is scary to think about, can be overwhelming to consider and in reality is seriously huge. I have made the decision to be someone's mother, which I never really thought I would be. But lets face it life throws things at you and then it becomes catch or fumble, I really don't want to fumble this one.
So here I am asking for help. If you can give monetary donations that is great (every bit helps) or if you can just look me in the eye and tell me I can do this (preferably without laughing) that helps too.
I really want to be able to share the weird and wonderful world that is my family with this child. My family is far from perfect and at the same time so damn close to it. Letting that love and laughter go to waste would be a shame.
