Cody Pyell

is adopting a child from United States of America

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of [insert amount] to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.

Cody and I met in 1999 in a children’s bumper bowling league. He was 5, and I was 3. Little did I know, he would end up being the love of my life. We met again about 10 years later, playing co-ed youth soccer. I was playing forward and trying to score a goal against the cute goalie. When I tried to score on him, one of the defenders knocked me down, and the handsome goalie helped me up. After the game, I was gushing to my mom, and she said that I knew him from bowling. I laughed, as I did not remember him myself, but did know that he was awfully cute. However, it was a time before Facebook, and I had no way to continue seeking this cute guy. Fast forward another 3 years, and we met again. This time I was the referee of a soccer game, and Cody was the coach. During halftime, I tried to make small talk with him with minimal success — after all, he was supposed to be coaching. After the game, thanks to Facebook now being a thing, I could find him and add him on Facebook. He quickly accepted my friend request, and we talked for several days. On June 26, 2011, we made it official and started dating. We dated for 5 years and then got engaged in November of 2016. We planned our dream wedding together and said “I do” on June 16, 2018. Cody and I were meant to be together from the beginning. He is my rock and my support. He keeps me laughing and loves me deeply.

While Cody and I were dating, I found out that I have a genetic disorder called MRKH, which makes it impossible for us to have children. This news was devastating, but Cody was very supportive, and we knew that we would someday be parents if it were meant to be. We spent time researching and learning about our other options. We have decided that adoption is the best route. The first step for us was to move into a place that could support and allow us to raise a child. We worked hard to move into a townhouse with an extra bedroom and a safe neighborhood full of children. The next hurdle is the biggest one — adoption costs quite a bit of money, and insurance does not help pay for it. That is where you come in. You can help us make this dream a reality by praying for us, sending positive vibes, and donating to our adoption costs.
