11 yrs ago Holly & I were discussing our futures: careers, travels-kids. Holly was passionate & clear about what she wanted - to adopt & create a home of love, hope & acceptance for a beautiful child. Up to that point I hadn&'t considered adoption, but the love & joy in her voice as she described the beauty of adoption won my heart over. After we married we added to an acct Holly had begun building nearly 10 yrs earlier and were able to hit our goal of $20k. Then we began the complicated process to adopt, in which God led us to a mild special needs program in China. So after about a 2 yr process, we are finally matched w/ our little girl, Eliana Meilin Quillen, and excited to welcome her to the family. Despite our efforts to be responsible through financial planning, inflation, increased costs & an unexpected special-needs program has pushed our adoption costs to $35,000. We never intended to ask others to bear the financial burden of our dream, but we also didn&'t anticipate such an increase in costs. So we want to invite those who know & care about us a chance to help us bring our little girl home & to write the next chapter of our story.
