We have BIG news!
We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.

Can you believe it's been almost two years since our last update!? We wanted to take a few minutes and share with you a little bit of what the adoption journey has looked like recently, and while we hope to share it on our blog as well, this seemed like a good place to start.
Despite the lack of updates, we are still waiting to be matched, and we are still hoping to adopt. There have been several moments when we thought the door was opening, but it just wasn't the match that God has in store for us. And so we continue to pray and wait. In the meantime, we continue to love our lives together, enjoy every moment we can, and learn more about adopting well and advocating for adoptee and birth mothers.
We have also been trying to find ways here and there to keep fundraising for our adoption. As inflation in our area have driven costs up, so have risen some of the costs associated with adopting. We are so, so grateful for an amazing agency that works hard to keep the costs as low as possible while providing the best, most ethically-sound adoption care for everyone involved. Even so, we want to feel confident that when the right match comes along, we won't have to say "no" to it due to finances.
We are grateful for your continued prayerful support of our journey. We covet your prayers as we continue to hold on in faith that the Lord brought us this far to see us through. And if He leads you to give financially as well, please know how deeply grateful we are.

Thank you so much to each of you who have helped us reach our goal for the agency fee. In early May, we received a call from the agency to let us know that they had a place for us on the active list. We shared on our personal blog last week that there were some BIG updates at our adoption agency recently. Among those updates was a new wait list! We are closer to becoming an "Active" family (that means that we are closer to being presented to expectant parents for potential matches). This is our time to make sure we have all our "I's" dotted and all our "T's" crossed.
We are *almost* to our goal for the agency fee. Thank you to each of you who have helped us get this far.
It is so exciting to see how close we are to the next chapter in this progress. We appreciate the continued support to get there.
