We have been married for over 8 years and have always known that we wanted to be a mom and dad and to be honest have always hoped we would be able to adopt someday. Little did we know then that our journey would look a little different but we have never felt more certain that this is OUR journey. After 4 miscarriages and finding out that we are both carriers of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, we have decided to grow our family through adoption. We are so excited, admittedly a little scared, but can't wait to bring baby (or babies) Rasmussen home. At this time, we are specifically focused on domestic infant adoption and are home study approved. We are looking at about $40,000 in adoption fees which covers our home study, application, legal fees, birth mother living expenses, etc. It's a big amount of money but we know this is the path for us and trust that everything will work out. There are two specific ways you can help us during this journey. The first is prayer. We ask for prayers for us, our families, our future child or children, and our birth family. This journey will be challenging on many different levels and we appreciate all of the prayers! Second, we know that we cannot do this on our own financially.
