We have BIG NEWS! We are adopting a child!
We always knew that we wanted to raise more than one child, but we did not know how it was going to happen or what we would be called to. We have our plans and God has his. We have a beautiful and kind four year old son, Roddy. He is so excited to welcome a baby brother or sister (or both) to our home.
After years of secondary infertility and two angel babies, God led us to adoption with an open heart. In 2014, we lost our first child at 24 weeks. In 2016, we were blessed with our rainbow baby, Roderick Aidan Reese. Ever since, we have been trying to add to our family. Earlier this year, I became pregnant, but discovered that we had a caesarean ectopic pregnancy and there was no heartbeat. Due to these complications, I am no longer able to conceive. We were devastated, but over time we realized that this situation did not mark the end of our journey to build our family. It is only the beginning of something new! "He who began a good work in you, will carry it on to completion" (Philippians 1:6).
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
