We have BIG news!
We are beyond excited and are preparing to welcome a beautiful life into our home this year. Many of you know, our family has been involved in being licensed foster parents in Arizona over the last 3 years. After 5 placements, and many different experiences, still, adoption has weighed heavily on our hearts. Through the ups and downs, we have felt the calling to adopt a child out of foster care, most likely with special needs. Unfortunately, most of our license paperwork from Arizona will not transfer to Colorado. We are currently working with an agency here who specializes in Foster-adopt situations who can help us navigate the process to be licensed here in Colorado quickly.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign to help offset some of the costs. All monies raised will go directly towards our home study, post-placement visits, legal fees, and cover every cost pertaining to the completion of the adoption.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he (yes, a boy!) grows up. Not everyone is called to foster, or to adopt a child, but anyone can play a part in providing a forever family to a child in need by donating to our page. Thank you for all of your support, positive thoughts, prayers, and for partnering with our family on our journey as it extends from fostering to adopting. We are reminded in Psalm 82:3 to "defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed." Holding this truth, Vernon and I are enthusiastic to be welcoming our new addition home within the upcoming months, and can't wait to share this exciting time with all of you!
