Joy Rickard

is adopting a child from United States of America

We have BIG news!

We are excited to announce that we have decided to begin a family through adoption! The decision to begin a family through adoption comes natural for both of us. In addition to having friends who were adopted, Ricky's mom was adopted and Joy's sister and her husband have a wonderful, loving boy whom they have permanent guardianship over. Although we are likely able to have biological children we feel that God is leading us down the path of adoption and will pave the way towards welcoming a beautiful new life into our home.

As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign to do our puzzle piece fundraiser and also to keep everyone updated through the process. We were very surprised to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $29,000 for all our fundraiser efforts to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

Our puzzle fundraiser works like this: We purchased 2 blank puzzles. We are "selling" each piece for $10. You choose to buy 1, 2, 3, or 10! There is no limit. Example : For a $30 donation your name will be written on 3 pieces. $50 your name will be written on 5 pieces. Once you donate we will write your name on however many puzzle pieces you "purchased." When the fundraiser has ended we will frame the puzzle and it will hang in our nursery in honor of everyone who had a "piece" of bringing our child home!

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Thank you for considering our family. We are thankful for each and every one of you during this exciting time.

Much love,

Ricky and Joy
