Once upon a time, two crazy-in-love, maybe-someday-married college students sat on a smelly second-hand couch in a dorm room dreaming about their future together. Would they have kids? Of course! Would some of those kids be adopted? Absolutely.
Our faithful Father has been writing Matt's and my life story with more thrills, twists, and turns than we ever imagined on that dreaming day 17 years ago. Only He would think to call us to chase this dream of adoption now, in 2019, fourteen years into our marriage, raising four kids, and working full-time in Asia! But thankfully we've been walking with Him long enough to have learned to never doubt His timing. When He calls, we say YES!
The need of family-less children in China is great. Dad's love is greater, and His arms are long enough to reach and save the lost, lonely, and destitute. As adopted members of Dad's gigantic family, we are so excited to make adoption a reality for one (or two??) of the many, many precious Chinese children who is living a family-less life right now. In order to do that, we need your help.
It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs for international adoption can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set an initial fundraising goal of $12,500. This amount of money will cover the initial adoption agency fees including all the costs related to the lengthy home study. When our home study is completed and approved, we will be able to apply for financial grants to off-set the remainder of the costs.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. "In my Father's house are many rooms…" …and there's always room for one more!
