WE ARE GETTING OUR BABY GIRL!!!!!
As you can imagine, we are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years, but we have been friends for over 15 years. We have 2 biological sons, ages 8 and 11, but we have been wanting to adopt a daughter for about 7 years now. Our first 2 sons were delivered by c-section due to complications. We decided to do what was best for me, and not have anymore biological children because I would have to have another c-section and the health risks would increase again. We figured, there's no reason in risking bringing another child into the world when there are already so many out there that need a loving home.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. The cost is one reason why only 2% of Americans go through with adoptions. This is why we have set out to raise money to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. The reason we are fundraising and asking for your donations is two-fold. Up until recent events with DSS and the delay in working with them, we were not planning on going the private adoption route. We have been going through the DSS process for 4 years now. If we would have known 4 years ago that we would end up here, we could have started this journey a long time ago and have a good amount of money saved. The 2nd part to this is that we have 2 other children, and we are just a regular family with modest incomes.
As a delivery truck driver and a part-time working stay-at-home mom, we don't have the $35,000 it takes for our adoption process. We have to continue to take care of our family's needs, so we can't just save up this intense amount of money in a 2 month period of time. Since we just got the call about being matches, we have 2 months to raise our adoption money. There's no way we could do this on our own, and that's why we need your help! Now, because we have lost so much time, we are seeking help to get this chapter finished quickly and start a new one with our new little edition!
