We have a match! We were thrilled to learn this past week that we have been chosen by a birth mother. The baby is coming soon - the mother's due date is October 18! We do not know yet if the baby is a boy or girl, but we hope to find out soon. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we make last minute preparations!
We have BIG news! We are adopting a child!
We have been talking about adopting a child since before we were married. As we have been praying and seeking direction from the Lord, we are sensing this is the right time to grow our family. We are so excited to become parents!
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs are quite expensive! While we do not expect to fundraise the entirety of our expenses, we have set our goal at the agency's rate of $37,000.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
How can we support you in this journey?
Prayer — Please pray that God would place the right child into our life. Pray for the right timing for this process. Pray for the mother of our child as she will have to make a difficult decision. Pray for her health, for confidence in her decision, and that she would be surrounding by the community and resources she needs beyond the adoption.
Giving — While we have been saving for adoption for some time, because the expenses are significant, we are happily accepting any donations you may wish to give. Donations through this website are tax-deductible. If you are willing and able to support our adoption financially, we would be honored.

What organization are you working with?
We are working with Lifetree, a Christian adoption agency in Dallas, TX. After researching a long list of agencies, we felt that Lifetree was the best fit for us! You can learn more about them at https://www.lifetreeadoption.com/
Where are you in the process?
At this time, we have completed our paperwork and await our final interviews and home study. After the completion of our home study, we will become a waiting family. From there, we will wait for a pregnant mother to choose us. After we are chosen, we will meet her at the hospital when she goes into delivery!
What is your timeline?
Adoption timelines are never certain. Lifetree has an average wait time of 9-18 months. This means we could be bringing home a baby in 2021, or it could take longer.
Will you have a boy or girl?
We are open to either, so we will just see who God brings us!
Why is adoption so expensive?
Adoption fees include legal fees, medical expenses for the birth mother, agency fees, and a variety of resources for the birth mother.
What else do you want us to know about adoption?
Adoption is a wonderful picture of what God has done for us through Jesus. When we place our faith in Jesus and his death for us on the cross, we become his sons and daughters, part of his international family. Jenna and I see adoption as an opportunity to embody in everyday life what God has supernaturally done in our lives!
