Meet James and Rachel: James served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 8 years before becoming a Police Officer in 2006. Rachel is a Certified Emergency Room nurse currently serving on active duty in the United States Navy overseas. In October of 2013 they initiated the process to adopt "Sammy." Sammy was abandoned as an infant, was labeled deaf and dumb, and has been waiting 5 years for his forever family to bring him home. This year (2014), James and Rachel will celebrate 10 years of marriage. They never thought it would take them this long to add to their family, but they are so excited that it&'s finally happening! And you can help! International adoptions require a lot of administrative and legal processes. The total estimated cost of James and Rachel&'s adoption is $30,000. They are currently cash-flowing the operation, but things will get expensive quickly once they receive the green light to travel to China, where they will be required to stay for a minimum of 2 weeks to finalize the adoption.
