We have BIG news!
We are adopting a child! During Christmas 2019, we met a 15-year-old orphan from Colombia while she was hosted locally through Project 143. We fell in love with her and we felt the calling to bring her home, to welcome her into our family. At the end of December, she had to travel back to Colombia and she will remain there until we are cleared to go get her. Lord willing, Shawn and I will travel to Colombia early next year for 3 to 5 weeks to bring her home.
Shawn and I talked about adoption on our first date, and have always wanted to welcome a child into our family who needed unconditional love, stability and safety. It’s been incredible to see God move, preparing our hearts and opening doors to our new daughter. Her new sisters, Vivian and Stella, could not be more excited. They talk of her often and can’t wait for “mommy and daddy to bring our big sister home”.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a tax deductible crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $45,000.
