Hello and welcome. We are the Schildbach family: Nate and Kim, Lucas, Gaelan, Jericho, Anelia, Olive Ann and Mabel. Thank you for stopping by our fundraising page!
Our Story
In 2014 we brought home our precious Anelia from an orphanage in Bulgaria. She spent the first six years of her life mostly sitting in a chair. For any child this is a hurtful practice, for a fully blind child it was tragic.
But now she is home and thriving! She is making up for lost time learning to dress and feed herself. She is learning to use her guide cane and snuggling up to be read to. She spends her days laughing, playing the piano, swinging, and playing with her siblings. Mostly she is learning to love and be loved.
She paved the way for us to adopt Mabel.
Mabel came home in 2016 from China. She is also fully blind and a treasure!
In just one year she is making up for lost time by learning to stand on her own. She loves bath time after coming home with a deep aversion to water. She enjoys playing with her siblings, eating bananas and being the chipper bird our family needed.
Our New Adoption Journey
We are stepping out in faith again to bring home Another young girl from from Zhengzhou China. She is 3 years old, fully blind, and precious. We cannot wait to open up the world to her!
Obviously we cannot do this on our own. We will need your love and support!
We are traveling the first week of June and will have our sweet daughter on the 11th.
Plane fares at this time are more than double what we budgeted for. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
