"But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can&'t possibly make a difference!" At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "It made a difference for that one." This was and continues to be our adoption theme. Our family strongly feels God&'s calling of adoption in our lives and we are so blessed to be walking the path He has for us. Our love knows no limit, no color, no distance, and no dollar. It is no secret that adoption is a long, emotional, and financially straining process but we also know that God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called. We believe His plan is bigger than our fears and we have had to work tirelessly to set aside our pride to ask for help in completing our family. We have independently raised our agency fees and homestudy expenses of $14,000. We continue to save, through personal cutbacks, sewing/selling blankets, photo shoots, garage sales, lemonade stands, and couch cushion diving!! We are now preparing for the expected legal fees and birthmother expenses that WILL come upon placement with our birthmother and heartgrown child. Every $1.00 brings us $1.00 closer to bringing him/her home!!
