As many of you know, we have decided to grow our family through adoption!
We chose to work with Bethany Christian Services for a domestic infant adoption, which means our profile books will be shown in South Dakota and Wyoming to expecting mothers who desire to create an adoption plan for their child. Our paperwork is completed and we are now just waiting for the day that we get a call saying a potential Birth Mom/Parents want to meet with us :) We understand that this is an open-ended timeline, it could be 2 years or it could be 2 months! Only God knows, and we are so excited to see what He has in store for our family. He knows the desires of our hearts and only He can fulfill that desire.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $11,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
More so than financial support, we are reaching out to our friends and family for support through prayer. The heartache and emotional stress one experiences going through this process is indescribable, not only for Lance and I, but for the birth mom/parents as well. They have chosen life for their child and are making a choice to provide them with an opportunity for a life better than what they may be able to provide for them in their current life situation. We're asking you to pray for peace and strength for the birth mom/parents to make this difficult yet selfless decision for their child. We are also asking for prayers of patience and trust in the Lord, for us, as we wait for Him to reveal his plans for our family.
