is adopting a child from China

In lieu of gifts for Cora's Adoption Shower, I am asking that donations be made to her orphanage, the Shangrao City Social Welfare Institute.

The vast majority of China's orphans have been abandoned because of medical problems that their parents can not afford to treat. Cora, who was born premature, has lived most of her life in a group medical foster home, which has provided her with wonderful care.

Sadly, very few of the children in Cora's orphanage will ever be adopted. It is customary, when adopting from China, to make a donation to your child's orphanage, to care for the children left behind. It is also a way of thanking the orphanage for caring for your child. Orphanages depend on these donations to pay for medical care, education, and to fund foster homes. Donations also encourage the orphanage to prepare more children's files for international adoption.

Please consider making a contribution to our Shangrao SWI adoption fund. Cora, the kids, and I thank you.
