We have BIG news! We are adopting a baby boy who was born last week. He is actually Vera's half-brother - how neat is that? We were going to wait another year before starting the adoption process again, but got a call saying that he had been born and asking us to consider bringing him home as our son. Of course we said yes!
One of the biggest things we need to do before we bring him home (other than mountains of paperwork) is come up with $30,000 to cover his adoption costs. Our agency fees will total $26,000 and then we'll need a bit extra to cover the legal fees once we go to court to finalize his adoption sometime in 2018.
When we adopted Vera, we were blessed to have money from an inheritance that we used to pay for the costs. However, this time around, we don't have that money - nor do we have time to save for it - it's due this month!
