Whitley Slabach

is adopting a child from Sierra Leone

After serving in East Asia and witnessing the need for people to step up to take care of the orphans of the world, Whitley and I felt the call to adopt. At the time, Ebola was ravaging West Africa. We reached out to Sierra Leone as we believed that was an area that suffered some of the greatest loss. We planned on adopting one child under the age of 2. God had other plans. We are in the final stages of our double adoption. Zeke and Zella are 4 and 3 respectively. We met them for the first time in October and we couldn't have asked for better kids to start our family with. We still have to travel to Sierra Leone two more times. Because, we are adopting two, our expenses have doubled in some areas. We are excited to get these kiddos home after close to 3 years since starting this journey. We feel honored to be their parents.
