We are adopting a child!
As many of you are aware we tragically lost our beautiful Finley Genevieve 18 hours after she was born in September 2017. She passed away from Group Strep B which is an infection that could have been treated with antibiotics. I was tested negative weeks before and because of that not tested again and our sweet girl is the one that suffered. We should be celebrating her every day with us and instead are mourning her. We know that Finley is watching over us and would watch over a new brother/sister whether through adoption or natural conception.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
