Our adoption story begins with a heart beat. From before we were married, each of us have been given a heart beat from the Lord for adoption. Knowing this, we have stepped out in faith each time we we were lead to grow our family. After long waits and difficult journeys were were blessed to bring home our daughter Hailey in 2010 and son Micah in 2014 through domestic infant adoptions. Through each journey we have grown and been able to experience glimpses of the magnitude of the love that God has for each one of us as His children. In late 2016 we again felt the tug on our hearts and the Lord whispering to us giving us the desire to adopt again and add another little one into the Spurgin family. We entered this adoption process full of hope, but with the reality that 2 previous adoptions had drained our savings we would be resting on God and God alone to provide the finances for this adoption if it was in his will. We finished up everything and were officially ready to "wait" in January of 2017. We were expecting a long wait as each of our previous experiences with adoption had taken from 18 months to 2 years. Clearly God had a different time line in mind! We got THE call on Tuesday, April 4th that we were matched and we welcomed home 1 week old baby Parker two days later! We were logistically scrambling, but man were we exploding with joy and ready to love on this little guy! Both Hailey and Micah have immediately attached and loved on lil' P as well. We are leaning on the Lord to help us all transition to a family of 5 in His timing and will! We have been together as a family of 5 for about 2 weeks now and are so in love with this little guy! We are constantly reminding ourselves that though faced with fee deadlines approaching, our family is in His hands and his care He will equip those He has called.
