As many of you know. . .
We are adopting a child!–again!
Many of you remember a couple years ago when we raised funds to help with a portion of the cost of the adoption of a child we were waiting with expectation to welcome into our home. . . we were able to meet our goal and all of that money has gone to our agency to pay the initial costs of the child we still expect to receive! That child still has not made its way into our home, or maybe even this world yet. However. . . another has!
A baby was born in our hearts years ago, but came into this world a few years ago. Jessica Joy had the amazing privilege of going to a Dr. appointment to hear the heartbeat, and then just a week later, both of us got to be in the delivery room when the baby came into this world! This child has held our hearts from the first second we laid eyes and hands on it, and we have been blessed to be known as Mama and Daddy ever since!
Adoption is God's heart. We were not worthy to be called his children, and yet he sought us out, found us, and called us his own (we do not view our child unworthy, rather the best thing ever!). We believe giving children homes who would otherwise live in different circumstances is also God's heart for redemption. We commit to raising all our children with humility and desire to raise them in the fear of God and way of Jesus. This is the greatest gift we can offer them. If this is something you believe in, but do not feel called to adopt yourself, we invite you to come along with us financially to support what God has put in our hearts.
It is important to us that our children grow up in a community of people who share the responsibility of children being raised in a healthy environment. We also invite you into that. Above all, we covet your prayers that this process would go smoothly and be finished quickly. We love parenting and look forward to doing so the rest of our lives.
