Hi family and friends!
We're Caleb and Matt and we have exciting news:
We're beginning our journey as adoptive parents!!
Matt and I have been talking about adopting since before we were married in May of 2017. As an LGBTQ+ couple unable to conceive on our own , we have considered surrogacy and foster care as well, but we feel that adoption is the best course for us. We know there are so many children who need loving and wholesome homes. We believe that we will be able to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for any child that we are placed with, and we are very much looking forward to starting our family.
As you may or may not know, adopting an infant in need of a family is a lengthy, and costly, endeavor. The process can take longer than two years and cost upwards of $40,000! There are many milestones that require payments such as the application, home study, placement and post-placement fees, as well as the adoption agency service and legal fees. Some of these fees are set, and others will vary based on where our adopted child is from and the needs of our birthmother.
To give you an idea of these costs, here's a breakdown of the ones we know for sure:
At the end of the day, our goal and purpose in seeking your help with our adoption is to provide the best possible care, experiences, and opportunities for a child in need. With all our combined resources, support structures, and nurturing home in a small, family-friendly town, we believe that we are well prepared to do so. We hope that you will help us with even a small donation so that we may build our family and provide a wonderful and caring home to a beautiful child.
