We have BIG news! We are blessed with adoption in our hearts! Read on to hear our story!
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $50,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $25,000.00 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as she grows up.
We are Steven, Jasmin (Jazzi), and RaeLei Tanabe.
Steven is a Colorado native. Steven was raised on his family's farm in Rocky Ford, CO. When Steven wasn't on the farm he was at the baseball field setting town records and enjoying the beauty of hard work. Steven's favorite hobbies are baseball, attending church (Red Rocks Church), and helping others.
Jazzi is a California native. Jazzi was raised in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Denver, CO almost 5 years ago. Jazzi grew up on the paintball field watching her father play on professional teams. Jazzi's favorite hobbies are photography, attending church (Red Rocks Church), and supervising big projects she signed Steven up for. ;)
RaeLei is 10 years old, loves attending church and dancing! RaeLei's favorite thing about her father, Steven, is his humor. These two are always laughing and making jokes! Her favorite thing about her step-mother, Jazzi, is her randomness. Catch these two driving to grab a sweet treat on the fly! RaeLei is excited to have a little sister, and she cannot wait to share her clothes with a fellow girly! She enjoys making TikTok videos and sending them for her family to enjoy!
Let's call her B.
B is 5 years old and currently resides in Bacolod, Philippines. Bless was born to a single mother who is currently attending school to obtain her degree in criminology in hopes of overcoming poverty. B's mother prepares and sells food in their neighborhood to pay for school tuition. B is being homeschooled since the family cannot afford formal education. There are currently 16 people living with B.
B has a dog named Ramen, LOVES Frozen, dancing, and American chocolate! B is always sending videos of herself dancing to Steven and Jazzi. B is extremely excited to come to the US - she asks everyday when she will be able to meet her adoptive family in person. B is practicing English so that she can better communicate with her adoptive family.
Did you ever have a dream on your mind that you can't shake? Maybe you see someone with a need that you can fulfill and you can't stop thinking about it. THIS IS US! We have prayed tirelessly for God to give us a sign regarding his plans for us in life, and we believe adoption is a part of that plan! Once we heard about B, we had this overwhelming connection- before even speaking with her! Something in our hearts were telling us that she was meant to be in our family. That "something" was God. Adoption is a true reflection of his love, and he has given us a dream and now we are asking that our family and friends help make it a reality. \<3
