God began stirring our hearts to give the gift of a family to a child through adoption in early 2014. After much prayer, research, and planning, we have become home-study ready for domestic adoption of a child under the age of three. For the last year we have been hoping for a child with Down syndrome; we hold our dreams, however, in an open hand, ready to receive God's good plan for our family. In order to make talking about and praying for our potential adopted child, our kids gave the name "Tater Tot." It also follows family tradition to nickname our child before he or she is brought into the family.
We were matched with a birthmom back in October of 2016. After a week she decided to parent. We were supported of this but it hurt so deeply as we lost a daughter. We lost a significant amount of our adoption savings as well.
God has now guided us down the path of embryo adoption. We have been matched with a single embryo with Ds. We pray God allows it life in my womb along with a healthy delivery.
We deeply enjoy being a family and can't wait to share our love in this specific way. What a glorious blessing to participate in adoption. Inviting others to come alongside of us in adoption will only increase blessings for everyone. Our supporters can know that they played an integral role not only in the life of our Tater Tot and our family but in a precious birth family as well. To God be the glory!
