Dearest friends, We are so excited to be growing our family through adoption! Watching our siblings and friends become parents, witnessing our "sobrinos/as" become unique amazing little people, and experiencing the intense bonds between children and their parents cultivated in us a great desire to become parents ourselves. However, our vision of a fun and exciting journey towards parenthood through conceiving a child resulted in an unexpected and challenging path. After increasingly invasive and costly fertility treatments, we determined that the emotional and financial toll combined with the decreased likelihood of success over time was too much of a cost. So, we chose to re-conceptualize how we would create our family. We moved on from what ultimately was a painful and sad journey to begin one full of hope; a new journey in which we can envision our family complete with a child. With infant adoption, we can begin loving and caring for our child at the earliest age possible. We hope to have the honor and privilege of being chosen to parent by an expecting mom who has made a difficult choice that she feels is best for the child she is bringing into the world. While we are so excited about our decision and family to be, this decision comes with a significant financial cost. Our total adoption cost will likely be $50,000 which includes the home study, agency fees, placement and legal fees, birthmother expenses and post-placement fees. Additionally, we&'ll have to travel 1-2 times out of state where we will stay for 2 to 3 weeks.
