"It takes a village."
One of the most often recited quotes when it comes to raising a child feels more applicable to our situation than we would have ever imagined! Adoption takes a village, and we're so happy to have you be a part of our village.
God laid adoption on both our hearts before we even met, and when growing our family biologically wasn't as easy as we'd envisioned, our conversations centered around adoption became more and more frequent. Once we realized that we'd be disappointed if we didn't adopt, that was all the confirmation we needed. Adoption was something that God had planned for our family!
We cannot wait to be parents, but more than that, we are also so excited to image God's Father heart through adoption.
Our adoption will be right around $50,000, and we are excited about the prospect of fundraising, because we see it as building a team of people–our village–who are supporting us, loving us, and praying for us throughout this whole process. This village is so important, and our adoption wouldn't be possible without it!
We had a 500 piece puzzle created (above), and are writing the name of everyone who makes a donation to our adoption on the back of a puzzle piece. We will put the puzzle together and hang it in a double-sided glass frame for our child’s room so that they can always look back and be reminded of who had a “piece” of bringing them home!
We hope that by inviting you to be a part of our village you will see yourself as part of the community that we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up! We look forward to the day when we will sit down with our child and show them all the names of the people who helped bring them home to us.
