We’re thrilled to announce that we’re adopting!! God has been moving us towards this decision for the past year or so, and it’s been on my heart since before marriage or our family decision. We’re so excited this journey has been presented to us. We know we’re not equipt to deal with it, but God is and he’ll lead us to our little girl.
I foresee us using this website to provide updates occasionally but more so to inform you of fundraisers we’ll be doing in the future, so I wanted to take some time to answer a few basic questions right now:
Are you fostering to adopt? No. We decided, that for our family, private open adoption is best.
Why open adoption? We fully intend for our children to know their stories completely. For C, that means knowing he loved mountains as a preemie. For our future daughter that means knowing two families loved her so much that they made the beat choices for her every time. And it also means that she has access to her history and her roots.
Is C excited? Maybe! We’re teaching him the word “baby” and we talk and pray for our future sister often. As long as they both have their own Thomas the Train and Mickey Mouse, he’ll be fine 😂.
What can you do to join us in the calling? First and foremost, you can PRAY. You can pray for us, our future baby, and her expectant parents now. Then you can help us fundraise! More about that later
It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 - $50,00.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our new addition as she grows up.
