UPDATE: First we want to thank everyone who has helped us out this far, you have not gone unnoticed. We are not 8 months into this process, it has been rough and tough BUT we have been able to keep Kylie in our home.
Part of the final process is mediation. Mediation is going to cost a lot of money, nearly $7,000 to be exact. Who knew protecting a child would cost so much. Not only are we faced with this new huge amount of fees, Terry is getting laid off after 14 years with his company. During the first round we were able to sale our second vehicle to off set the attorney fees due to Terry having a company truck, he loses that too. We aren’t sure what life looks like with one vehicle and two jobs but we will make it work. Even tho the cost is outrageous and we have lost a lot, we know that we are doing the right thing to fight to protect Kylie. God has always provided and will continue. There will be a lot of valleys before the hills but what a testimony we will share.
Terry & I are starting the process to be able to keep sweet Kylie. Very few know that we have had Kylie with us in Texas for over two and a half years. The decision wasn't made lightly in the sense that some relationships will be burned but the decision to fight for her was easy. At some point we want to share our story, her story really. We know this journey will not be easy or smooth.
It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $7,00 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of our family we are building around Kylie as she grows up.
If you feel led to give, it would be an incredible help but we also aren’t oblivious to the financial whoas of others. We have included our Venmo & Zelle at the bottom as well. We continue to ask for an abundance of prayers. We firmly believe in the power of prayers in numbers. We love each of you and are so thankful for our village.
