Hello friends and family! Thank you so much for being here!
Adoption is something that has been deeply rooted in our hearts for almost ten years. We first began to have conversations about adoption after hearing adoption stories being told at our church years ago in college. As an engaged couple, we discussed it more seriously, and seeds were planted in our hearts that have grown into the calling we feel today, to grow our family through adoption. After much prayer and research, we have decided to adopt an infant domestically in the United States. We do not know what race our child will be but we do know they will be between 0-12 months old. We are thrilled to be finally begin this journey and have felt the Lord's hand at work as we seek to be obedient to His calling of love. We hope to give this child unconditional love, a supportive family, and a secure home to grow up in.
As you may know, adoption is costly. It is costly financially, emotionally, and spiritually. We have attempted to save what we could towards the financial costs, bearing in mind that the average domestic adoption can cost anywhere from $20,000-40,000. We hope that you would prayerfully consider making a tax deductible donation in whatever amount you can to help offset the financial costs we will have as adoptive parents. We do not ask this of you lightly, we do so with sincere appreciation for you, as part of the community that this child will grow up in, and we will always be deeply grateful for your support in bringing our child home.
We hope to also utilize other fundraising efforts as our journey continues and will post updates as we can throughout this process. We have enlisted the help of Christian Adoption Consultants (http://www.christianadoptionconsultants.com) to help guide us with wisdom and encouragement in the world of adoption. CAC works with families and birth mothers in almost every state in the US and also works with international adoptions. Please be in prayer for us, through all the ups and downs that we are sure to experience along the way. Please pray for our birth mother, her difficult situation, and the precious child who we do not know yet. Please pray that we would all allow God to write this story in a beautiful way that only He can, for His glory and our good. We are so grateful for you and we cannot wait to introduce you to our newest family member one day!
Love in Christ,
Mitch & Katie Terry
