Rachel Allen
is adopting from Colombia
Our adoption journey began back in 2020 when I first opened my home as a foster mom. I truly believed that was the path I would walk long-term.
Last year, I adopted my daughter, Esly, and becoming her mom changed everything. She has brought so much joy, growth, and love into my life—but it also made something clear: my heart still has room.
Over the past year, I’ve felt a deep pull toward older children who are still waiting for families—especially girls who are often overlooked simply because of their age. After many attempts to continue growing our family through foster care, those doors didn’t open the way I expected.
But this story isn’t over.
We are now stepping into something new and pursuing an international adoption from Colombia, hoping to welcome a girl or sister set into our family. While there are still many unknowns, one thing is certain: these girls are waiting, and we are choosing to say yes.
We can’t do this alone.
If you feel led to support—whether through giving, sharing, or praying—you are becoming part of bringing a child home to a family.
Thank you for being here and for helping us take this next step. 💛
