Josh and Whitney Ball

are adopting a child from United States of America

We want to share a part of Savannah Grace’s story — because her life has been a miracle from the very beginning.

Before Savannah was born, Josh was running a homeless shelter and recovery center where he met her birth parents. They were both experiencing homelessness at the time. At Savannah’s very first doctor’s appointment, the recommendation was devastating: the doctor advised that the pregnancy be terminated due to the high likelihood that Savannah would not survive to birth. Each appointment that followed came with more grim news and little hope.

One day, after yet another difficult visit, Josh sat down with her birth parents and said, “Let’s give God a chance to be God and trust the outcome to Him.”

Several months later, a beautiful baby girl named Savannah was born — alive, strong, and loved.

Savannah did have a hole in her heart and issues with her hips, but once again, her story was marked by grace. By six months old, both issues had completely resolved without the need for any medical intervention. Just another miracle in a journey full of them.

Within weeks of her birth, Savannah’s birth parents made the incredibly difficult decision that they could not provide the life she deserved and chose to surrender her. By that time, we had already fallen in love with this little girl and knew in our hearts that she could not enter the foster care system. We filed for an emergency custody hearing, and the very next day we were granted both physical and legal custody of Savannah. She has been in our care ever since.

Savannah is now 9 years old and will turn 10 this April. She has grown up knowing love, stability, family, and faith. For many years, we struggled to find the financial means to move forward with adoption. Recently, Savannah learned — through a painful moment at school — that she did not share our last name because she was adopted. She wasn’t upset to learn the truth; she was hurt because she couldn’t have our last name for real.

That was the moment we knew we couldn’t wait any longer.

We have now secured an incredible attorney and have officially begun the adoption process. Thanks to the generosity of so many, $2,500 has already been raised, and those funds have allowed us to cover attorney fees and move forward. We still need to complete the home study and a few remaining requirements to finalize the adoption. Our hope is to complete this process as close to Savannah’s 10th birthday as possible — giving her the gift of permanence and belonging that she has waited so patiently for.

Savannah has always been our daughter in every way that matters. Now we are simply asking for help to make it official.

We truly can’t do this without you. Any support — whether through donating, sharing our story, or praying for our family — means more than words can express.

Thank you for helping us finish Savannah’s miracle story.
