We are pursuing adoption of a baby with Down syndrome!!
Our family is beyond excited for what the Lord is calling us to and we have already seen how He is affirming this decision. Being involved in special needs ministry and adoption are two things the Lord placed on our hearts from the start of marriage, but we never expected the Lord to call us to this specific idea: adoption of a baby with Down syndrome. As we’ve entered into this process praying, researching, filling out paperwork, meeting with people, preparing our home for a baby, and immersing ourselves in the Down syndrome community, it has become clear the Lord has equipped our family for this exact ministry.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more!! We are humbly aware that though we are being called to the ministry of adoption, we cannot do it without the help of our family and friends.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community (near and far) that we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up!!
