Always… Forever… Dream Big…

We are Aaron and Danny Barnett-Foster. We met in September 2020 and got married in June 2022. We began exploring the adoption process shortly after we were married. Aaron has always wanted to have a child of his own and, although Danny has three wonderful biological children (Collin, 14; Reese, 12; and Evan, 7), he still has lots of love to give to a child. We will be overwhelmed with excitement and joy when our family is finally complete after a successful adoption.

Last summer we experienced a failed placement through the foster system, partly due to discrimination based on race and our sexual orientation. After those experiences we began exploring private domestic adoption. This process is slow, emotional, personal, and incredibly expensive. We believe the adoption will cost us up to $50,000 for our home study, matching services, birth mother’s expenses, legal fees, and travel. We are exploring options for grants and loans to help with the cost, but our hope is to raise at least 1/3 through our friends and family.

Our first goal is to raise $5,000 to complete our home study through Adoption & Beyond. We can’t move forward without your help. All donations, small or large, are appreciated.

    Still Holding Onto Hope

    It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us — we’ve taken some time to pause, reflect, and adjust our expectations as we continue on this journey.

    Our dream of adopting a baby is still very much alive, but we’ve realized it may take a few more years before it becomes a reality. Even so, we remain hopeful and grateful for every bit of support we receive along the way.

    Ready for our First Step

    May 14, 2025

    We met with an adoption agency this evening and are ready to begin our journey by completing our home study. This process involves compiling documents, meeting with a social worker, home visits, background checks, etc. Will you help us complete this step by getting us to our initial goal of $5,000 to pay for the home study fees?
