Hello all,
We (Cindy and Zach) have been looking at different ways to adopt for the past couple of years and have explored different options. After attempting to adopt in Florida and running into set backs there, fighting with the desire to adopt during covid, and having any adoption intentions put on hold during a move to Colorado, we have settled on private adoption as our choice to bring a new member into our family.
We love our family and want it to expand and we see a need for children to be brought into loving homes to have a fulfilling life. We want to honor those mother's who want the best for their child but do not believe it is them to give that best. God has called us to love these children and to help give them the life that He has planned for them.
For the longest time, we did not think private adoption was possible because it was so expensive. However, after looking into it and talking with those that have done this, we realized that we could make it happen. With the help of God's family, we could finance this adoption and make it happen.
I cannot believe a month has gone by since Judah was born! We have loved every second with him . Minus the lack of sleep, we are all adjusting well. It is not too late to donate, our adoption is far from finalized. We are required to have two post placement visits and those are $400 each, then we can petition for adoption afterwards. We have not heard from the birth mother since we have been home. We have tried really hard to keep communications open. Please pray that she will have peach and wisdom and that she will come back around.
Our birth mother went in for an ultrasound and turns out, she is further along than we expected. She is measuring 31 weeks and has a new due date of October 11th. We are super excited that we get to meet our little blessing a whole month earlier!
We got a phone call today that we have been matched with a baby girl due in November! Please pray for us and the mother as we work on building our relationship and pray for God's will over this whole process.
Our home study is finally completed and approved! This means we can start seeing situations and can choose to present or not. If we match, we will need to provide the fees within 48 hours to the agency.
We just signed a contract with Journey Adoption Consultants. They have a one time fee of $4000 and has no end date. Our consultant will help us find all the resources such as agencies, people to do our home study, and someone to make our profile book. We have found someone to do our home study and that fee is $1,800. We will be hard core fundraising while we work on our home study
