Donald & Brittany Barr
are adopting a child from United States of America
Hi, I’m Brittany — and alongside my husband, Donald, I’m so ready to become a mom.
This story has been written on my heart for a long time. Adoption isn’t a backup plan for us. It’s the path God has placed directly in front of us, and we’re walking it with full trust and open arms. I want to tell you from the start — this baby, your baby, will be loved with everything we have. This is not something we’re “hoping” to be ready for. We are ready. Fully. Joyfully. Prayerfully.
We’ve been married for over ten years. Our marriage is steady, safe, and rooted in faith. We laugh every single day, we pray over our meals and our decisions, and we show up for each other in every season. We’ve faced a long journey through infertility, including a pregnancy and miscarriage that broke our hearts — but through all of it, I never stopped believing that I was meant to be a mother. And now, I believe with everything in me that God is leading us to adoption to fulfill that calling.
I serve in our church’s children’s ministry — and every week I get to love on and teach little ones about God’s love. It’s one of my favorite parts of life. My husband Donald is calm, loyal, and has the kind of patient heart that makes kids feel instantly safe. And I can already picture him rocking a baby in the nursery, reading bedtime stories, and being the kind of dad who shows up to every school play and every hard moment with open arms.
Our home is full of peace and warmth. We live a quiet life that we’ve intentionally built around family, faith, and creating a safe space for a child to grow. We have three sweet indoor cats — Marbles, Fluffins, and Missy — who are all gentle and love to be near us. They’re a huge part of our family, and I know they’ll be curious and gentle with a baby. The nursery is already set up. The tiny clothes are folded. The books are on the shelf. Not because we’re rushing — but because we’ve been preparing in faith for the child God is sending.
We are praying daily for the birth mom who’s meant to find us — that she feels peace, that she feels God’s presence, and that she knows she’s not alone in this. If you’re reading this and something in your heart is stirring, please know this: we don’t take any of this for granted. We will honor you in our home. We will speak of you with love and respect. And if you desire a relationship — open or ongoing — we would welcome it with grace.
This child will be cherished, guided, prayed over, and reminded every single day that they are loved beyond words — by you, by us, and by the God who brought us together.
We already love this baby with all our hearts.
And we already care about you more than you know.
With all our love and complete readiness,
The Barr Family (Donald, Brittany, Marbles, Fluffins, and Missy)
