We have some news. Some VERY big news.
We're starting the process to add a permanent, life-defining chapter in our family's story. We're looking to adopt!
After many discussions and a lot of reflection, we know this is the right decision. There's someone missing who will make our family complete. There is a child who wants a place to call home, and fits our puzzle perfectly; all we need to do is find them.
Due to complications with Kelsey's last pregnancy and birth, we've chosen not to risk her health or the chance that our son could be without a mother. She is a Type One Diabetic in good health, but going through childbirth again would be unwise. However, we also feel there is another child meant to be with us, and that our son has a sibling. Although we are at the beginning of the process, we know there will be many hurdles to face, especially when it comes to finances.
We plan to use an agency to adopt internationally. We are better suited to take care of a young child than an infant this time around, but adopting from another country is very costly. We are unable to cover all the costs on our own, even with Kelsey working nights.
It is difficult to ask for help, but we are asking now. If you have anything you can donate, we would be forever grateful. We aren't getting any younger, and we know adoption can take many years. We have so much love to give! And if you are unable to donate, we of course understand. If you would consider sharing our story and spreading the word, that would help us tremendously.
We are nervous, excited, and hopeful all wrapped into one. Adoption is one of the biggest decisions we can make, and we feel safe and at peace with our choice. We love you all; thank you for taking the time to listen.
