Hi, we are the Bateson Family from Utah!
After adopting our son in 2022, we both kept feeling like God was asking us to leave the door open to adopt again. Within a year, we connected with multiple moms considering adoption for their child. Ultimately they decided to parent their babies, and we continue to cheer them on to this day! So we renewed our Home Study paperwork and are approved once again to adopt. We haven’t pursued any new avenues of advertising, consultants, or agencies, but just simply leaving it in God’s hands and remaining open to anything He may send our way organically.
We are fundraising to cover the cost of adoption fees and related expenses.
Thank you for visiting our Adopt Together profile. Your prayers and support mean the world to us!
in July 2024, we began a beautiful relationship with an expectant mom located in Washington. She chose us as adoptive parents for her unborn baby girl due end of August. As the adoption plan became official, we had received a small adoption grant to help with funds and pay for the adoption attorneys in Utah and Washington that were in place. We traveled to Washington and spent two lovely days in person with this young woman who we had grown to know as a friend. Some doubts about the adoption plan became evident during the last week of her pregnancy. She had support from her family to parent her baby girl, and deep down, she knew she wanted to be her mother.
While it is very bittersweet that we did not come home with a newborn, we still stay in touch and are cheering this young mom on. We are honored to have been part of her story. Please join us in praying for her as she navigates this new journey of motherhood.
We are thankful for the support of our family, friends, and adoption community during this time. Overall we are doing well, because we are trained through this process to prepare for any outcome. Nothing is ever official until papers are signed, and it is wrong to place ownership or belonging on a baby in another woman’s womb, for it is her child. Of course, we grieve what could have been, but the overarching feeling of the whole experience is just gratitude.
We are grateful to have been part of God’s plan for this baby.
We are grateful to lean on God through disappointment.
We are grateful for the hope God gives us to move forward.
As for fundraising, we are back to square one. We know God will provide again, because He did before. We thank you for partnering with us and investing in our family.
