I have decided to adopt a child and I am extremely excited! I did not come to this decision lightly, I've spent many days, months, and even years thinking and praying about adoption and whether or not it is the right decision for me. I know what I am about to say is going to sound crazy unless you believe the way I do. I am a Christian and was praying one night. I have always dreamt of having children one day and I was asking God why I haven't met the right guy to marry and start a family. And as clear as if someone was talking to me sitting across the room, I heard the word 'adoption'. From then on, I just knew this is something I had to do, something I was called to do. I am doing everything I can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful baby into my life and home. As part of the adoption process, I have started a fundraiser. It may surprise some of you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $60,000 or more. This is why I have set a goal of $40,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. I hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community I hope to build around my child as he/she grows up.
