Dear friends and family, We are excited about the potential of adding to our family through adoption and want to invite you into this journey by sharing a bit of our story and our need for financial support. It has been over a year and half since we became an active waiting family. We started by working with an agency in Oregon, but due to the extremely low number of situations here, we decided to branch out to other states to increase likelihood of adopting. As we have expanded, adoption has become financially daunting. We’ve paid a significant amount for an Oregon adoption, but if we place out of state, we would be starting from zero. In addition the out-of-state costs are higher, as we would have to pay for travel and lodging, and we would need to remain there for 2-4 weeks for legal paperwork and possibly a NICU stay. Although this is not at all an easy thing for us to admit or to share, we will need financial help to make adoption a reality for our family. In addition to applying for grants, we want to provide those who are willing and able an avenue to help us financially. If you, or someone you know, feels a desire to contribute towards our adoption expenses, we would certainly appreciate your support.
