are adopting a child from Liberia

We have spent the past 3 years praying, waiting, and hoping to have a child of our own.

By the grace of God, he has opened the door for us to begin the process of adopting an 11 year old girl from Liberia, and we are raising funds to help cover the many costs involved. For her safety and to not jeopardize any part of this, we were advised by our case manager not to publicly post her name and photo at this time.

We want to provide a safe, loving, and permanent home for this girl who has lost both of her parents, has nowhere to go, and no one to care for her.

As many of you know, the adoption process includes significant agency fees, legal paperwork, travel, court costs, and post-placement requirements. The total expense is estimated to be well over $50,000, and could be even more with unexpected delays (our friend’s recent adoption cost $70,000+). We cannot do this on our own, and are trusting in our Lord to provide.

We are grateful for any prayers and support as we take this step of faith and love to bring this child into our home.

    Starting Our Home Study & Tentative Timeline

    June 17, 2026

    We really want to reiterate our sincere thanks and gratitude to all who have been praying and supporting us so far. It has been beyond humbling, and there have been so many emotions just in these past couple of weeks.

    We’ve officially started and are moving through our Home Study (required part of the adoption process to make sure we’re fit to have a child come into our family) at a good pace. Speaking of we were told by our case worker that things have been noticeably speeding up with Liberia’s adoption process, and we could possibly have everything finalized within 12 months. Most can take 2-4 years.

    Her birthday is in October so our goal is to celebrate her 13th together ☺️

    As things continue, we’ll be posting updates on the bigger mile markers like this one, as the Home Study really is one of the most important steps in the process, but only one of them.

    We praise our God for his faithfulness and will continue to trust in his timing through this all. Appreciate you all ☺️
