We are hoping to adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. Adoption has been something we have talked about since we got married. As Christians we believe adoption is not a call but it’s something we are. Several of our close friends have adopted and seeing the love and beauty in their families really planted the seed in our hearts to pursue adoption to grow our family. At the start of our marriage, we thought about all the different ways to grow our family. Though we did get pregnant, we suffered a lengthy hospital stay (five months) and continued complications. After talking with doctors, we ultimately decided another pregnancy wasn’t an option for us.
We are both confident that another pregnancy is not something we wanted to pursue, and adoption is our next step in trying to grow our family. Adoption is central to the Gospel of Jesus, and to grow our family this way has truly been heart-forming and awe-inspiring.
We look forward to our family growing through adoption and that our daughter will have the gift of a sibling.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. This is why we have set a goal of $19,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
